Niykee has experienced a whirlwind few years including being chosen by Snoop to sing with Snoop at The YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee maintains a consistent songwriting schedule despite this. Songwriting is an inspiration to hopeful producers. Niykee listens constantly to beats and discovers many that spark ideas. "I'll be able to tell in the first five seconds if it's a good beat. When I've got a tune in my mind, I will start writing right away." I'll sit out on my backyard with my guitar and the words are just a matter of time and typically it's completed in less than thirty minutes. Niykee's experiences from her past provide endless sources of motivation. The pain I felt growing as a child as well as losing my younger sister are still reflected in my lyrics even when they are not literally. It influences my music and provides it with a deeper sense of meaning that I believe is extremely important. I'd like to be able listen to my songs in 20 years and be proud of what I have to say.
