She really must have impressed since she transformed that single episode into the lead role in Whedon's upcoming hit TV series, Firefly. The character of Summer Glau, River Tam, was an intricate character Glau was able to handle with ease. In the role of Tam she was forced into government experiments where she was made to become an ideal assassin. Tam's emotional control was removed as a direct result. Glau's combat skills were demonstrated in the show Firefly. Glau's fighting skills were developed through her studies to turn into an Assassin. Summer Glau was classically-trained as ballerina. Her broken toe, however, that put an end to her dancing career. Firefly ran for just one season, but gained an unstoppable fan base. Whedon became so dedicated to the show that he returned a couple years later. Summer Glau however continued to work with quality. Summer Glau appeared in TV programs such as Cold Case, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
